Keep Your Sentences Short

2022

Exhibited at group exhibition Saudade, The Energy and Technology Museum, Vilnius

Keep Your Sentences Short is a collection of self-directed instructions gathered over a year, exploring cyclicality, change, temporality, death, the unknown and our relationships. Written sentences become both a tool and a form through which these themes are considered.

Taking off from wishes found in fortune cookies, personal notes, books and films, the work places fragments of language into statements and questions printed on nine textile pieces. Moving between personal reflection and collective experience, the works consider responsibility, choice and the desire to be understood, asking how words can become gestures towards others.
